Atlantis Stories
Title: The One Who Knew First
Rating: PG
Sample: It seemed after the initial, frantic dash for safety, time slowed down. People ran, but it was almost as if everyone were trapped within a cloud of resistant pressure. Families found each other and stood still – confused and frightened and unsure.
Title: The Good of Beauty
Rating: G
Sample: Up close, the bats were a dark, shiny emerald, their wins almost as iridescent as the dragonflies they chased in the fading light. Nella got lost in the swoops and circles. They were like the patterns in the seashells the fishermen wore around their necks – endless spirals of elegant curves.
Title: Who Remembers Atlantis?
Rating: PG-13
Sample: She is older than she looks. Her blue eyes have been closed for ten thousand years, but her mind still remembers the water that swallowed the heart she had kept safe inside a glass fish bowl, swimming in circles – a ray of golden light against the window.
Stories of the Paradise People
Title: A Love Story
Rating: G
Sample: There was once a man with a lame leg. He lived alone near the edge of the Leatman River where he could often be seen fixing the nets of the fishermen. He was not handsome to look at though he had a fine baritone voice.
Title: Story of Man
Rating: G
Sample: The Peanut Tortoises once roamed the small but hot Altsinth Desert. They were the primary diet of the Wormwood people until their extinction some twenty years ago. They were tiny (the tortoises, not the people), adult females only reaching four inches in length.
