05. Use Lemon Juice
Try to apply lemon juice to the wooden surface where it is affected by excess glue. Then use a scrap toothbrush or any brush designed for household purposes in a circular motion over the dried glue spots.
You can now pull away from the glue quickly. The next best alternative to lemon juice is alcohol as it is also used in the same process.
06. Mineral Oil
Make sure that the wooden surface is not polished or painted before using mineral oil. This is because mineral oil dampens the wood making it easier for lifting the glue.
After you notice that the glue has been removed, wash the wood with warm soapy water and leave it to dry.
07. Use Fingernails when All Else Fail
One of the most traditional methods of removing glue is the use of fingernails. We all love peeling the adhesive from our hands and palms.
In the same way, try to use fingernails in the removal of the glue. If you feel tired after removing with fingernails, then try to use the edge of a spoon as it is easy and effective.
Remember to only use this method on small objects and not on bulk carpentry.
08. Use Petroleum jelly or Vegetable Oil
If all the other techniques fail, try to apply petroleum jelly over the wooden surface or vegetable oil – whichever is available at your convenience.
Apply over the glued surface of the wood and keep it overnight. Then try to scrape away at the identified location.
It is said that this method is widely applicable in getting rid of glues from the surface with lesser effort.
